Our client, a global independent engineering consultancy based in JHB, is seeking a Financial Manager to join their team.

The FM will be responsible for partnering with the Head of Finance and management in supporting informed financial management decisions, as they impact on the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures and processes.

  • Preparation and presentation of group monthly financial reports including cash flow, income statement and balance sheet.

  • Review and analysis of monthly financial results and provision of recommendations.

  • Assist in the preparation of annual group budgets.

  • Maintenance of the annual company operating budget

  • Financial data capturing per entity i.e., general ledger accounts

  • Accounts receivable, invoicing and debtors’ control.

  • Accounts payable, creditor control.

  • Provision of regular maintenance and backup of all accounting systems.

  • Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, and financial procedures.

  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for board of directors.

  • Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and overhead cost allocation.

  • Support in the management of cash flow planning processes and ensure funds availability.

  • Review and make recommendations for approval of all credit applications

  • Engage financial consultants, auditors and suppliers.

  • Maintain banking relationships and alliances with vendors and business partners.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits

  • Preparation of annual financial statements and audit packs.

  • Preparation and timely filing of tax returns, VAT, PAYE, IT14, engage SARS and resolve queries relating to all tax matters.

  • Remain current on audit best practices and IFRS requirements.

  • Assist in drafting of Annual Financial Statements for sign off.

  • Maintenance and preparation of company secretarial records, annual returns, share certificates, director changes and ensure compliance relating to the Companies Act

  • Mentoring and coaching the financial team

    Qualifications

  • CA (SA)

  • Sage X3 proficient

  • SAICA or SAIPA Articles

  • Must have 5 years’ experiences in financial management

  • People management

  • Analytical reasoning

  • Attention to detail
