Accountant

Our client , an investment management company based in the Southern Suburbs is looking for an experienced analytical Accountant to join their small but dynamic team.

 

Take on the full accounting function up to audit preparation. Candidates must have 5 years experience, a BCom or Financial management diploma

Ideal candidates have previous experience in financial services as an Accountant,  must have strong problem solving skills and able to multitask.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Process month-end tasks relating to journal entries, bank and account reconciliations
  • Process payments which include fee payments/invoices and service provider fees
  • Preparing and deliver regulatory, compliance and audit requirements/submissions to the Prudential Authority and the FSCA
  • Tax submissions for the life company and Manco
  • Liaison with and management of service providers where necessary
  • Monitor and perform reconciliations and following up as needed
  • Capture and process accounting transaction and day-to-day treasury
  • Involvement in special projects that span various functions within finance and operations
  • Engaging and reporting (incl. reconciliation of fees) with the outsourced administrator.
  • Collection of data in preparation of the annual financial statements
  • Facilitate bank account opening , scrip account opening, local and offshore
  • Monitoring and responding to queries in our dedicated mailboxes

Minimum Requirements:

  • BCom or relevant degree with five years experience
  • Experience working with financial services

  • Strong communication skills both on email and verbal to do feedback reporting

Learning and Development Manager

Our client has a Learning and Development Manager vacancy that has arisen. This role requires an individual to partner with the Human Capital Business Partner to support the analysis and scoping of the L&D and Talent Management components of the business and People Agenda. Take the lead and deliver aligned and seamless learning solutions to the business.

Primary Job Function:

* Creating training programmes that are aligned with the organisation objectives and having a strong understanding of what these are.
* Acting as the the go to within the business for anyone with questions or queries regarding training and development plans.
* Act as the face of L&D to the business, pulling in leadership, solution as required.
* Lead and programmes manage the diagnosis  and delivery of bespoke learning and development interventions in line with business goals.
* Working closely with various leaders across the organisation and having a full understandings of their units and training requirements.
* Embracing different styles of training techniques, including e-learning, tutorial sessions or coaching
* Having an awareness of the allocated budget and an  ability to find solutions in order to implement the required training.
* Building relationships with 3rd party training providers
* Designing staple curriculums for all employees (i.e. values)
* Aligns the innovation agenda with the needs and directions of business units.
* Partner with HRBP in consulting with the business to create innovative solutions when standardized products are not sufficient.
* Monitor and evaluate consistency and harmonization of policies and solutions across the enterprise as appropriate
* Assist the Human Capital Department with Ad Hoc queries.

Basic Job Requirements:

* An appropriate tertiary education i.e. Bachelors Degree
* At least 5 years experience in asset management/financial services industry.
* Good understanding of investment management concepts, including investment philosophy, process, and products.
* Strong relationship management and networking skills
* Designing and supplying a variety of training styles
* An ability to communicate in a simple and concise manner with colleagues and clients, both in oral and written form.

Accountant

Our client, operating in the fashion and retail space, and based in Cape Town CBD, is looking to hire an Accountant for a 6 month contract, which could possibly be extended.

The ideal candidate will have a BCom degree, Pastel Accounting experience and full GL processing experience.

Assistant Accountant

Our client, a global IT software company with their head office based in the UK are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their small team in Cape Town.

Responsibilities include:

  • General book-keeping
  • Netsuite experience would be ideal but not essential
  • Posting of creditor invoices to the ledger
  • Posting of bank and credit card, and reconciliations
  • Monthly supplier account reconciliations
  • Month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations to supporting schedules (accruals, prepayments, lease, etc)
  • Creation of monthly and interim payment files for UK, India and Australia
  • Loading payments onto bank
  • Review of travel expenses and reporting
  • Fixed asset register management
  • Assisting with VAT (UK filings) – experience with UK VAT would be advantageous but not necessary
  • Sending information to subsidiary accountants in other countries, to ensure they can prepare the subsidiary accounts
  • Reviewing information prepared by subsidiary accountants to ensure accuracy
  • Intercompany balance reconciliations
  • Cash flow reporting
  • Supporting the Revenue accountant with processing orders, invoicing and debtor management

Reporting

Assist Financial Manager with company and group reporting requirements including:

  • Cash flow projections
  • Annual audit preparation
  • Other ad hoc reporting
