Our client based in Northern Suburbs Cape Town, is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and knowledgeable individual with strong experience in the Foreign Exchange (FX) intermediary space. The ideal candidate will be responsible for FX trading (primarily for individuals), ensuring seamless downstream operations, exceptional client service, and compliance with regulatory standards, including KYC, FICA, and AML requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • FX Intermediary Trader:

    • Facilitate FX trades and ensure timely and accurate transaction processing.

    • Act as an intermediary between clients and trading desks, resolving trading and operational issues quickly and efficiently.

    • Establish nature of the transaction to ensure the trade is permissible in terms of prevailing exchange control regulations or SARS and SARB requirements

  • Customer Service:

    • Provide professional FX intermediary services to financial advisors and their clients, addressing queries with the primary objective of seamless client experience

    • Build and maintain strong service provider and client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and retention.

  • Problem Solving & Proactive Engagement:

    • Broad understanding and application of prevailing exchange control regulations, SARS and SARB requirements relating to international payments

    • Identify and anticipate trading, operational or compliance issues, offering potential  solutions.

    • Take initiative to streamline processes and improve overall operational efficiency.

      Requirements

  • Trading experience in the FX intermediary services industry or treasury outsourcing companies

  • Experience in international payments, processing and settlements

  • High level understanding of regulatory environment relating to FX and the wealth management industry

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Willingness to immediately escalate where necessary or uncertain

  • Some experience in client onboarding, compliance reviews, or downstream operations relating to client management

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and relevant compliance tools or onboarding platforms (This is Me, Docusign, adapting to in-house systems)

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
