Our client, in the hospitality industry based in the CBD, is seeking a Financial Manager with proven leadership qualities, to join their Finance team.

The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for the full accounting and financial function of the hospitality group, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial reporting. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and maintaining the accounting records

  • Monthly preparation of the management accounts and executive summary, detailing variances against prior year and budget.

  • Submission of monthly management pack to HO.

  • Processing of all relevant monthly journal entries 

  • Process and reconcile all other bank account/s.

  • Reconciling & processing of monthly payroll

  • Reviewing of monthly VAT including of submission of VAT201 for Group Financial Controllers approval.

  • Together with cost control team and respective HOD’s, ensure proper procedures and controls for purchasing, receiving, stores and requisitioning in line with B-BBEE regulations

  • Maintaining fixed asset register and purchases

  • Preparation of the annual budget 

  • Maintaining the debtors and suppliers age analysis

  • Reviewing and authorising weekly & monthly payments for submission to head office.

  • Co-ordinate with external auditors over the year end audit

  • Oversee the financial performance and management of the company's various business units

  • Conduct and participate in monthly feedback meeting

  • Lead and mentor the finance team

    Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of financial management experience, with at least 2 years in the hospitality industry

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (essential)

  • Completed SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA articles or equivalent (preferred)

  • Proficient on SAGE Evolution and advanced Excel.

  • Opera and Micros knowledge will be advantageous

  • Excellent understanding of financial reporting standards (IAS, IFRS)

  • Analytical acumen

  • Ability to work in a pressurized environment with deadlines

  • Good planning skills and organisation abilities.
