Our client, an established property management company based in Mowbray, are looking for a Bookkeeper/Accountant to join their team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process day-to-day financial transactions on Xero: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations across all company accounts

  • Reconcile control accounts and investigate/resolve variances

  • Capture and code supplier invoices, and process supplier payments

  • Raise and send client/owner invoices, and track payment collection

  • Manage the debtors and creditors function, including following up on outstanding balances

  • Process payroll-related entries and statutory payments (PAYE, UIF, VAT) as needed, or liaise with the relevant provider

  • Ensure supporting documentation is filed and audit-ready for all transactions

  • Manage and reconcile expense floats and cards used by maintenance, housekeeping and guest experience staff across properties

  • Chase and process expense slips and supporting documentation from field staff

  • Support the short-term rental payment cycle: reconciling Airbnb/Booking.com payouts, fee deductions, and owner payments

  • Pick up broader bookkeeping and HR admin tasks as needed while the finance team is short-staffed

  • Work closely with the business owner, flagging issues early and looking for solutions rather than just processing numbers

Requirements

  • BCom Finance, Accounting or relevant qualification

  • 4+ years in Bookkeeping or Accounting
