Our client is a fast-growing South African travel management company offering tailored corporate and leisure travel solutions, with a focus on personalised service and seamless planning.
The Accounts Clerk will assist the accounting department with data entry, processing, and recording transactions. It includes efficiently managing and recording daily bank and credit card account transactions, assisting with processing supplier invoices onto the accounting system, and occasionally performing monthly reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
Process daily bank account transactions promptly and accurately
Accurate posting of VAT entries
Managing credit card float balances and assigning cards in compliance with Company Policies
Assisting with the processing of supplier invoices onto the accounting system
Conduct monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards to ensure accuracy
Processing credit cards receipts for on-tour sales, and reconciling these accounts (Stripe and Peach
Payments)Match payments and invoices in accounting software
Maintain up-to-date and organised financial records
Filing Financial records
Updating and maintaining accounting databases
Performing basic office tasks, such as data entry, processing the mail and accounts email inbox , etc.
Requirements
Possess a relevant certificate or diploma or degree in accounting or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in data capturing, accounts payable/ receivable and bank account and credit
card processing.Strong administrative skills with a keen eye for detail.
Experience in dealing with FOREX advantageous
Ability to work under deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
Exceptional accuracy in handling high volumes of financial data.
Familiarity with Business Central or equivalent accounting systems will be considered an advantage.
Experience in the travel or tour operator industry would be an advantage.
Understanding of basic accounting principles and proficiency with computers and software, such as MS
Excel, Google Sheets etc.
