Our client is a JSE-listed diversified financial services group. They provide services across asset management, investment banking, advisory, insurance, and institutional securities broking, delivering integrated financial solutions to institutional and private clients.

Part of the Global Equity team, responsible for detailed fundamental analysis and valuation, developing a deep knowledge of the investment coverage universe. The Analyst will build a thorough understanding of the companies under their coverage as well as their clients broader peer groups and industries.


Key Responsibilities

  • Understand portfolio management as a wider discipline, applying a range of portfolio management tools and techniques

  • Develop and maintain coverage of stocks and assisting junior analysts

  • Conduct global equity research, developing investment theses and valuation models

  • Analyse companies using a fundamental framework and identify investment opportunities

  • Produce in-depth research reports and maintain coverage of companies

  • Engage with company management, investor relations, and external research providers to gain insights into company and sector dynamics

  • Contribute to investment meetings, collaborate with the research team, and support investment decision-making

  • Represent the firm at management meetings, results presentations, and industry events

  • Support continuous improvement of research processes and contribute positively to the broader business and team environment

    Requirements

  • Bachelor of Business Science (or related degree)

  • CFA Charter Holder

  • CA(SA) (advantageous)

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and a variety of computer software

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities

  • Detail-oriented with a structured work style and high level of accuracy

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and results-driven mindset

  • Highly organised with strong time management

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience using financial research platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, S&P Global, or similar systems

  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to present clear, logical insights

  • Passion for global equity markets
