The Bookkeeper will be responsible for recording day-to-day financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting financial reporting processes for various legal entities in the group. To maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with South African financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records and process supplier invoices and payments
Perform bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations
Manage the full accounts payable function and prepare payment schedules
Assist with VAT, EMP201 submissions, and ensure statutory compliance
Support monthly management accounts, budgeting, and year-end audits
Prepare payroll information for the payroll consultant
Maintain fixed asset registers for group companies
Requirements
Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance
3–5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role
Experience working with accounting software e.g. Sage and Syspro will be an advantage.
Experience with VAT and payroll processing
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Self-motivated
Strong organisational skills
