Our client is a Cape Town-based seafood business specialising in harvesting, processing, trading and exporting South African fish.
Our client is looking for a Bookkeeper who can do the full debtors, creditors as well as cashbook function. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail and accuracy, they are highly organised and are able to manage multiple different tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full debtors, creditors and cashbook functions.
Process customer and supplier invoices accurately on SAGE.
Manage customer accounts, statements and outstanding payments.
Follow up on overdue accounts and resolve customer queries.
Verify supplier invoices, supporting documents and payment details.
Process payments, receipts, bank transactions and credit notes.
Perform daily bank and cashbook reconciliations.
Complete monthly debtor, creditor and intercompany reconciliations.
Assist with VAT reconciliations and monthly financial reporting.
Maintain accurate financial records, filing and supporting documentation.
Maintain the SAGE customer and supplier database
Requirements
Diploma in Bookkeeping or relevant
Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Strong Excel and SAGE skills.
Good understanding of debtors, creditors and reconciliations.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
