The Finance Reporting & Data Assurance Analyst will join a digital bank build team, to design, build, test, and maintain Finance reporting outputs, including interactive management dashboards, fixed-format financial and regulatory reports, and Excel-based submission outputs. The role combines strong accounting and financial-reporting knowledge with hands-on Power BI, Excel and SQL capability. The Analyst will ensure that every reported figure is accurate, investigating variances and retaining clear evidence of report accuracy and Finance sign-off.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Finance SMEs, the Finance Test Lead, Treasury and Data Engineers.

  • Design, build and maintain Finance reporting outputs.

  • Translate Finance, Treasury and regulatory requirements into clear report specifications, calculations, layouts, data requirements and acceptance criteria.

  • Validate report outputs for completeness, accuracy, timeliness and consistency.

  • Reconcile reports.

  • Investigate report breaks, data-quality exceptions and unexplained variances.

  • Support report testing.

  • Apply controlled change, versioning and release-management practices for reports.

  • Support Finance data governance.

  • Work with Treasury to ensure approved Treasury calculation outputs are correct.

  • Provide practical support to Finance users. 

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or a related discipline.

  • Professional accounting qualification, or progress toward one (advantageous).

  • 5+ yrs’ in Finance reporting, financial data, business intelligence or reporting assurance.

  • Strong practical accounting, financial reporting & reconciliation experience (essential).

  • Advanced Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modelling and report design.

  • Understanding of data modelling, data transformations, data quality and lineage.

  • Experience producing both interactive dashboards & fixed-format or paginated reports.

  • Strong Excel capability, including complex formulae & controlled reporting templates.

  • Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to interrogate and validate data.

  • Data validation, investigating variances and reconciling reports to source data.

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery tools, including Jira and Confluence.

  • Banking, financial services or another regulated environment experience (preferred).

  • Regulatory reporting, IFRS/EAS or controlled financial submissions (advantageous).

  • Data lakes, APIs and event-driven data sources experience (advantageous).
