Our client is a private equity investment firm focused on partnering with exceptional businesses across Sub-Saharan Africa to unlock growth, create sustainable value and deliver meaningful impact.
They are looking for a highly motivated and commercially minded Investment Analyst to join their Cape Town office. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the full investment lifecycle; from investment origination and due diligence through to portfolio value creation and exit execution.
Key Responsibilities
Build financial models, conduct valuations and assess investment returns
Conduct company, industry and market research to evaluate investment opportunities
Prepare investment memoranda, presentations and recommendations
Support due diligence, transaction structuring, negotiations and deal execution
Monitor portfolio performance against strategic and financial objectives
Assist with portfolio reporting, investment reviews and ESG assessments
Support board and board committee activities
Identify new investment opportunities and maintain the investment pipeline
Build relationships with entrepreneurs, management teams, advisors and industry stakeholders
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related field
Professional qualification (CA(SA), ACCA, CFA, CPA or CMA) preferred
2–4 years’ relevant experience in private equity, venture capital or a similar investment environment
Proven experience in research, financial modelling and valuation
Exposure to M&A, capital raising, due diligence and transaction execution
Experience preparing investment and board-level presentations and reports
Strong financial and commercial acumen
Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking
Strong communication and stakeholder management
Proactive, detail-oriented and adaptable
