Our client is a major equestrian centre and venue in the Cape Winelands, providing horse‑related services such as livery, show jumping, dressage and other equestrian events.

This is an all-rounder role for an experienced Junior Accountant who is eager to be involved with the day-to-day workings of a company. Strong leadership skills are also essential to support and grow the young team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping to the trial balance and monthly reconciliations for four small entities

  • Preparing reconciliations, completing and submitting statutory returns records to auditors (VAT, PAYE, WCA)

  • Handle payroll processing, preparing payslips and salary schedules

  • Preparing payments for employees and creditors

  • Performing debtors and creditors processing and reconciliations

  • Measuring and implementing financial controls to minimise business risk

  • Preparing management statements and accounts.

    Requirements

  • Financial Diploma or Degree

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ work experience in a similar role

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and basic tax rules

  • Payroll experience, with proficiency in Sage Pastel accounting

  • SARS eFiling knowledge advantageous

  • Good communication skills

  • Self-starter who can plan and take initiative to meet objectives and deadlines independently.
