Our client is a leading self- financed renewable energy group with 700 active installations across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia.

The Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide strategic and operational financial leadership across the group, overseeing financial performance, governance, and capital management. The role supports the CEO and Board on investor relations, capital raising, and group structure, while ensuring aligned reporting, risk management, and integrated financial systems across all entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership, including capital planning, liquidity management, forecasting, and investor support

  • Oversee group-wide financial management, reporting, compliance, treasury, and controls across all entities and regions

  • Lead finance systems, data integration, automation, and reporting to support decision-making and transparency

  • Manage financial risk, governance, internal controls, and relationships with auditors, banks, and advisors

  • Lead and develop finance teams and collaborate with operational and commercial functions to drive business performance

    Requirements

  • CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification

  • Minimum 8 years’ post-articles experience, including at least 4 years in a senior financial leadership role, preferably as CFO with Board-level engagement

  • Proven track record in structuring and leading a full finance function across manufacturing, operations, and funding environments

  • Experience in infrastructure or other asset-based sectors advantageous

  • Demonstrated exposure to cross-border, multi-currency, and fund-finance environments

  • Strong capability in capital structuring, investment analysis, and cashflow optimisation

  • Experience developing teams, systems, and processes to deliver accurate, timeous financial reporting

  • Systems- and data-oriented, with experience leveraging digital finance systems and analytics platforms

  • Strategic, analytical thinker with high financial acumen and strong attention to detail

  • High integrity with proven governance, stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills, including managing multi-country teams
